The NYPD Band

The NYPD Band has a storied history that reaches back to 1901. The present incarnation of the band was formed in 1991 and is comprised of several different ensembles, including the Marching Band, Jazz Band, Drumline, Steel Pan Band, and Chorus.

The membership of the band consists of active duty police officers and civilian members of the department, who work in different commands throughout the five boroughs of New York City.

The band regularly performs for audiences throughout the city, and has traveled across the country and around the world, bringing their music to major events such as the San Jose Jazz Festival, the Quebec City International Festival of Military Bands, and the World Police Band Concert Series, to name only a few.
